Argenta Marks 15th Year of Data-Driven Insights

Argenta -- a leading provider of Product Reliability and Process Improvement solutions -- is celebrating its 15th anniversary, with a focus for the next 15 years on growth in its key sectors, including aerospace and automotive.

Argenta designs and implements software solutions for its clients that include data acquisition and analysis for manufacturing and engineering processes, scheduling and simulation for warehouse or factory floor operations, and demand forecasting for manufacturing and emergency services. The company's roster of past clients includes UTC Aerospace, energy company Greenbank, Unilever, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Pieminister, Shell Chemicals, Highways Agency, and HM Home Office.

As a National Instruments Alliance partner, Argenta uses National Instruments' hardware and LabVIEW software to create solutions for data acquisition and control, integrating directly with factory floor equipment. Argenta also has in-house C# and SQL programming expertise, and so is able to create bespoke software solutions for scheduling, forecasting, simulation and data analysis, tailored to the client's requirements. Argenta often works in partnership with test rig manufacturers, creating software tailored to the rig for a particular client's requirements.

Argenta is a member of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance and has a number of clients in the aerospace industry in the region. The UK aerospace industry is enjoying strong growth, with industry body ADS reporting a record number of aircraft deliveries in the first half of 2018, and the largest backlog of aircraft orders on record(1). In the automotive sector, there is $0.67 trillion of potential value from digital transformation, including digitizing manufacturing and the ecosystem(2) , according to the World Economic Forum.

"Over the last 15 years, we've seen an explosive growth in data,"says Chris Woodhams, Managing Director, Argenta. "With industries such as aerospace and automotive seeing strong growth and exploring digital transformation, it is becoming even more pressing for them to find a way to turn the deluge of data into meaningful insight. Many companies today are still dependent on manual intervention for their testing or scheduling processes. That throttles the flow of data and risks inaccuracy. By automating these processes, we're able to increase the responsiveness of their businesses, and increase their productivity."

He adds: "Our strength lies in providing end-to-end solutions that are shaped around our clients' processes, rather than requiring them to adapt their processes to off-the-shelf software. We look beyond the process we're optimising, and make sure we understand the organisation as a whole, so we can deliver a solution that helps transform the client's business."

Argenta was established by Jeff Woodhams in 2003, and is now led by his son Chris Woodhams, who was the company's first employee. One of Argenta's early successes was a series of projects in the steel industry in Scandinavia in 2005. Argenta won its first aerospace client in 2009, and won its first major competitive tender in 2016. One of Argenta’s more unusual projects was for a UK police force and our partner Process Evolution in 2016/17. "We used our expertise in modelling and forecasting to look at incident demand and forecast the required resource volumes to achieve the required performance. Whether it's pies, planes or police, we're able to bring a fresh insight to the data," says Woodhams.

The Argenta team celebrated their 15th Anniversary with some of their longstanding partners by taking part in some off-road karting!
